Some of my Favorite Bands!!

Enter Shikari.

Band Members:

Roughton "Rou" Reynolds - Vocalist, Electronics, Synthesizer, Keys Liam "Rory" Clewlow - Guitar, Backing vocalist Chris Batten - Bass, Vocals Rob Rolfe - Drums, Percussion:
The band formed as an evolution from an earlier band, Hybryd, and formed in St. Albans, England in 2003. All four members are from St. Albans. Enter Shikari secured a spot on the Gibson/MySpace stage at 2006's Download Festival. They have also had interviews with popular music press such as Kerrang! and Rock Sound. On November 4, 2006, they became only the second unsigned band to ever sell out London Astoria (the first being The Darkness). Their first physical single was a double A-side of re-recorded versions of "Sorry You're Not A Winner" and "OK Time for Plan B", released on October 30, 2006 which was limited to 1000 copies of each format. In late 2006, despite many huge offers from major labels, the band announced that they had decided to 'go it alone' on their own label, Ambush Reality, with assistance from their distributor Vital. In January 2007, Enter Shikari came 5th in BBC online's "Sound of 2007" poll, which compiles the views of numerous music critics on who they predict will achieve success in 2007. They also made the NME's "New Noise 2007", a list of the bands it considers most likely to achieve success in the coming year (previous years lists have included the likes of Arcade Fire, Hot Chip and Bloc Party). The band have played a set, and were interviewed, for the fourth edition of the radio version of The Tube. In mid-January 2007 (week ending 13 Jan 2007), Enter Shikari's first single, "Mothership", entered the UK singles chart for one week at number 151, on Downloads only. This was followed a week later (Week ending 20 Jan 2007) by "Sorry You're Not a Winner/OK Time for Plan B", which charted at number 182 on the singles chart (despite its physical formats not being eligible for charts [at the band's request]) and number 146 in the Download Chart. In June 2009 Juggernauts was released as a single reaching #28 in the UK Official Charts. Also they have seen the release of their second album Common Dreads on June 15 2009. The second single, No Sleep Tonight, became their 3rd most successful single reaching #63. When they released Common Dreads, the album was a great success, with songs like "Solidarity" proving popular amongst fans, despite the great change in style from "Take To The Skies". On February 22nd 2010 they will release a "not-so-mini mini album" named TRIBALISM. It will consist of several remixes of songs off Common Dreads, and include B-Sides such as "All Eyes On The Saint". It will also include two new tracks named 'Thumper' and the title track, 'Tribalism'. Thumper was released to the public on youtube and radio 1 on January 19th 2010 and has been a great success, receiving positive comments from all fans. /wikipedia.com

Senses Fail.

James "Buddy" Nielsen – lead vocals, primary lyricist (2002 – present) Garrett Zablocki – lead and rhythm guitars, backing vocals (2002 – present) Dan Trapp – drums, percussion (2002 – present) Jason Black – bass (2008 – present) (bassist of Hot Water Music, replacement of former bassist Mike Glita) Zack Roach - guitars (2010 – present).
Senses Fail began in 2001 after Buddy Nielsen posted an advertisement on the Internet to recruit members for the band, but the band line-up was not complete till the following year. The advertisement attracted attention from Dan Trapp, only 15 at the time, who after reading the article contacted friends Dave Miller and Garrett Zablocki. The line-up was later completed by Tokyo Rose ex-drummer Mike Glita who filled the role of bassist in the band. [3] The band took their musical influences of punk and hardcore and mixed them with poetry, emotion, literature, religion, eastern philosophy and spirituality to create their own sound and image [4] The name "Senses Fail" is derived from the Buddhist belief in Nirvana. Lead singer Nielsen explains, "In Buddhism, they believe that being alive is hell, and the only way to reach Nirvana is to ultimately have no attachments to anything. So, people go out and live in the middle of the woods and they don't eat and don't drink. They just meditate because they've reached such a high level where they're not attached to love, relationships or anything. And if you want to reach the highest level of being and see God, you have to have all your senses fail. Nielson explained. Building a local fan base by playing any gig they could find from skate parks and clubs to churches, [5] they soon entered the studio and started to record. Their first release, From the Depths of Dreams, was a six-track EP that was originally released on ECA Records on August 16, 2002. It originally started as two three-song demo CDs, but was later joined together to make one release by producer John Naclerio. The independent release did very well and caught the attention of some record labels. They signed to Drive-Thru Records, and reissued their EP April 29, 2003 with two extra tracks, better mixing and new cover art. This release saw much success, and sold enough copies to peak at #144 on the Billboard chart. [6] In support of the EP, Senses Fail toured with such bands as Finch, The Used, Millencolin, and The Starting Line. /wikipedia.com

Attack Attack! was formed by Austin Carlile, Ricky Lortz, Andrew Whiting, Nick White, and Andrew Wetzel in 2005 as a primary metalcore group. As time went on they added synth player Caleb Shomo. Several months later Nick White announced his departure from the group and John Holgado was added on bass. In early 2008 they self-released their debut EP titled If Guns Are Outlawed, Can We Use Swords?. Later they signed to Rise Records in June 2008 and released their debut album, Someday Came Suddenly, on the label late that year.[4] Someday Came Suddenly peaked at #25 on the Billboard Independent Albums chart and #193 on the Billboard 200,[5] with sales of more than 3,600 in its first week.[6]. Attack Attack! released a music video for their highly criticized song "Stick Stickly" on MTV2's "Headbangers Ball." Two music videos were created, one by a company named DecembersEdge. The band decided to go with the other video featured on their MySpace page. The video has led to a number of criticisms, including lengthy pieces by Buddyhead and the British newspaper The Guardian. [2][8] The band also has a "live" video for the song "Dr. Shavargo Pt. 3" that can be found online, but hasn't yet been officially released.[9] On October 19, 2009, lead vocalist Nick Barham announced his departure from Attack Attack! just two days short of their headliner tour. He stated in his blog on MySpace that "It was just time for change," and that there was no conflict between him and the other band members.[10] The band recently announced that Caleb Shomo would, in fact, be taking over lead vocals.[11] They just finished their tour with I Set My Friends On Fire, Miss May I, Our Last Night, and The Color Morale as part of the "Shred Til Your Dead" tour. Recently, Attack Attack! has been playing a new song entitled "Sexual Man Chocolate" at their headlining tour./wikipedia.com

Formation, The Silence in Black and White and If Only You Were Lonely (2001-2006) Hawthorne Heights is an American rock band from Dayton, Ohio, formed in 2001.[11] Their line-up currently consists of vocalist and guitarist JT Woodruff, lead guitarist Micah Carli, bassist and vocalist Matt Ridenour and drummer Eron Bucciarelli. On November 24, 2007, guitarist and vocalist Casey Calvert died of accidental causes, leaving the band as a four-piece.[12] The band, who were originally named A Day in the Life,[11] have released three studio albums on Victory Records since changing their name to Hawthorne Heights. The band found success with both of their first two albums, with 2004's The Silence in Black and White achieving Platinum certification, and their 2006 album If Only You Were Lonely achieving Gold certification,[13] after it peaked at #1 on the Billboard Top Independent Albums and #3 on the Billboard 200 charts.[14] They are also well known for their 2006 single "Saying Sorry", which reached Gold status[13] and peaked at #7 on the Billboard Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart.[15] The band's third album, Fragile Future, was released on August 5, 2008,[16] surprisingly through Victory Records again, after a lengthy legal battle between the two parties.[17] Originally known as A Day in the Life,[11] their first record was a demo entitled Four Bullets for One Girl, after one album (Nine Reasons to Say Goodbye), an EP, Paper Chromatography (which was later re-released as part of the compilation From Ohio With Love), and significant line-up changes, the band changed its name to Hawthorne Heights. On the DVD portion of The Silence in Black and White, drummer Eron Bucciarelli states that the band took their current name from the author Nathaniel Hawthorne. Their first album The Silence in Black and White, was released in 2004. The album was slow to build sales at first; however, soon the video for the song Ohio Is for Lovers began getting airplay on MTV, and the band enjoyed breakout success at radio as well as a growing nationwide fan base, and the album became Victory Records' highest selling debut. The Silence in Black and White peaked at number 56 on the Billboard charts. When their second album If Only You Were Lonely was released on Feb 28, 2006, it debuted at number 3 on the Billboard charts, powered by the lead single "Saying Sorry" which has received regular airplay on MTV, VH1 and Fuse. The band performed on the 2006 Nintendo Fusion Tour./wikipedia.com

Death of Casey Calvert[[R.I.P]] (2007).

While on their headlining tour with Escape the Fate, Amber Pacific, The Secret Handshake, and The A.K.A.'s in Washington, D.C., guitarist Casey Calvert was found dead on the band's tour bus on November 24, 2007. The band had kicked off their U.S. tour just the day before in Detroit, Michigan.[18][19] Toxicology and autopsy reports state Calvert died of Combined Drug Intoxication.[20] The official statement issued by the band says that Calvert died in his sleep and that his body was discovered before the band was to do a sound check prior to a show at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC. The band was devastated. They spent a few days mourning, reflecting, and writing a song about the incident. The song eventually became "Four Become One" on their album Fragile Future. According to the results of an autopsy performed by the office of the chief medical examiner in Washington, D.C, and released in December 2007, Calvert's death was accidental. Dr. John Mendelson, a pharmacologist at the California Pacific Medical Center Research Institute, told MTV News that "Cases like Calvert's are so rare that they're almost nonexistent. It's so rare that you can't even put a number on it,"[12] and that "It's exceedingly rare that 26-year-olds die of anything medical. This kind of death is one in several million."[21] Both citalopram (also known by the brand name Celexa) and clonazepam (also known by the brand names Klonopin and Rivotril) are prescription drugs, the former an antidepressant and the latter used to treat seizure disorders and panic attacks. Drummer Eron Bucciarelli issued the following statement: [22] From the time of the incident we suspected a possible drug interaction as the cause. Casey wrestled with depression for as long as we knew him. He saw numerous doctors and took an ever-changing array of medicines to get better. He finally had his depression under control. According to the toxicology report, the cause of death was due to a fatal interaction between depression meds, anxiety meds and an opiate. Opiates being mentioned along with the term 'substance abuse', coupled with 'rockstar' stereotypes immediately conjure up images of hard drug use and addiction, which simply couldn't be further from the truth in Casey's instance. What the toxicology report doesn't show is that prior to us leaving for tour, Casey had a root canal, and was prescribed Vicodin (an opiate) for the pain. Once again, Casey was not involved in anything illegal nor was he a substance abuser. JT Woodruff has stated that "We won't add another guitar player or add another screamer", and that "In our albums, it'll always say 'Casey Calvert: guitar/vocals.'"[23] Bucciarelli stated in another interview that, "We don't need another screamer...If the fans want screaming, they can provide it themselves."[24]/wikipedia.com

Young also produced Relient K's song "Terminals". Thiessen stated that it is very likely that he and Young will produce a side project called Goodbye Dubai in the future.[10] "Fireflies" was released as a free download on the iPod/iPhone game Tap Tap Revenge 3 by Tapulous. Prior to the July 14, 2009 internet release of Ocean Eyes, and the "Fireflies" single, Steve Hoover was hired as a director for a music video for "Fireflies". The video had an exclusive premiere on MySpace,[11] but was leaked onto the video viewing websites, YouTube and Dailymotion hours earlier. "Fireflies" became a big sleeper hit, topping the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States for the week ending November 7, 2009.[12] Owl City is featured on Soundtrack 90210 with a song entitled "Sunburn", which was released on October 13, 2009.[13] Owl City has toured with The Scene Aesthetic and Brooke Waggoner. Owl City has been stated to play within the musical genres of electronica, synthpop, emo and alternative.[14][14] Young has stated that he is inspired by disco and European electronic music[15] and also lists Imogen Heap, Relient K, Boards of Canada and Armin van Buuren as influential artists.[citation needed] Owl City has been compared to The Postal Service, with a number of publications going as far as accusing Owl City of "ripping off" the Postal Service. Adam Young, while admitting to being a fan of the Postal Service and acknowledging some influence, has dismissed the comparisons.[22] wikipedia.com
